Home Is Where Your Story Begins, But It Doesn't Have To End There
So I come from a town where hopes and dreams become,
Less of a reality and the longer you’re around you’ll find they’re gone completely.
The kind of place that’s filled with folks that are too scared to miss new stories,
Which leads to weekends out becoming the same repeated memories.
The girls are blessed with such a beauty and some of them have charming grace,
They always talk about, how they want out, and how they’re losing the good race.
But at the same time stick with guys who don’t seem to make them happy,
But I guess in their eyes, anything is better than being lonely.
Deadweight paperweight entertainment, do you feel satisfied?
Loose lips always tell white lies, can you see the devil in my eyes.
Wake up young sister, there’s a pretty world out there,
It’s not all Lost Nights and Bar Fights and Bad Guys,
And you can even bring a friend.
Wake up big brother, I know you’re wise beyond your time,
But even that will get you no where,
Get out and bring the dream alive.
So I come from a town where everybody with a camera,
thinks they’re a photographer, who’s taking pictures of a girl who thinks she’s the next top model and,
no one cares about your stories they only care about your lips they go to the same old bars and get with people their friends got with last week.
Its now I understand that everything you want doesn’t always go to plan,
And when it doesn’t work out you need to get back up and start over again.
And realise no one is there to help and keeping up appearances don’t work,
even if it means moving on and getting out,
That’s the best advice I took.
Wake up everybody, you’re all great and you all know
But don’t you ever sometimes realise, you’re better than the town that you call home?

The Devil's Grin

The Devil’s Grin
In a short while the dead will rise
And they’ll eat my heart and they’ll take my eyes
But if you could see what they look like
Then you’d wish too that they take your sight.
And the vultures wait like the sun at noon
‘cos they know damn well I’ll be dead real soon
in the distance there sit a crying kid
is he praying to a god that doesn’t exist?
I said boy you’ve gotta help me don’t you dare give up the fight
He looked at me and began to grin and whispered it’s your time
He said I’m sorry sir but I can’t help I need to take you in
And so I ran
And the desert sands would grab my feet
And the burning sun took a toll on me
I fell to the floor and the fear begun
Armed with a single bullet in a rusty gun
The boy stood tall overshadowed me
He said If I were you I’d throw that gun away
He saw the fear in my eyes as I pulled the gun
From the holster where it once belonged
I said boy you need to help me don’t you want to save a life?
He said by killing you, you understand that I am saving mine
And I don’t know what went through me but I pulled the trigger tight
At the end of it all I’m now a struggling man
Laying at the devils feet in the blood red sand
Then he came in close and this is what he said
If you don’t want the pain then make sure you’re dead
He dragged my useless body all across the desert sands
And though I didn’t realise I still knew all of his plans
Don’t ever take for granted what you thought was never there
And he dragged me down

A Small Song To Make Time Pass
Remember me i'll be all the way over here if you need me
and I would fly the twelve hour plane journey to see you
and you are always on my mind
Think of me if you're ever sad or lonely
and I hope that puts a smile on your face
and know that i'm not far behind
When you look into a mirror do you see what I see?
A small world of beauty with eyes staring back me
If love had wings I would be beside you now
no questions asked not when, not why, not how
It would be so easy to understand
